Short and sweet. That pretty much sums up the circumstances surrounding the two rollers (and one stationary photograph) that I snapped of Alex’s Mk4 Jetta on our way out to Ocean City, Maryland last month. Sometimes though, that’s all it takes. The light was nice and the Bay Bridge was coming up, and I couldn’t help but ask the group to pull off so I could hop into Alex’s brother’s car and snap away.
With such opportunities there are always some things that aren’t taken into consideration in the midst of the moment. I had primarily brought my camera on our little day trip to snap a few friendly candids in Ocean City, as I’d never really relaxed and enjoyed the boardwalk—or even walked the boardwalk—in all the years I’ve traveled to H2O Int’l!
With that considered, I forewent cleaning my camera (which was long overdue) because I assumed the peppering of dust on my sensor would be unnoticeable at wider apertures. But, as is life, I found myself peeping out the window snapping away at Alex’s Mk4, with an aperture between f/10 and f/14…
So while the rolling shoot may have been short and sweet, the editing process after the fact was incredibly grueling and definitely made up for it in the end!
